My perspective
“So He said, ‘Go forth and stand on the mountain before the Lord.’ And behold, the Lord was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing…”
The Lord was not in the wind, the earthquake or the fire, but in the gentle whisper.
In life, there are experiences that come like overpowering winds, changing us deeply. When fiery trials invade, we may not see God or understand “why.” But He promises he is near. His ways are quiet and gentle, comforting and merciful.
Fine art is the most fluent language I have for expressing God’s love. I paint to capture life and spirit in the moment. I want my art to speak his gentle whisper.
God has brought me out of dark places with tenderness and reassurance. These works reflect God renewing my hope as I know him more. May you hear his whisper through them.
