Daughter of the King

Pastel
18 x 24

Could it really be that Jesus wore a crown of thorns, representing my sinful confusion - and in return gives me his diadem of righteousness before God?

While painting this piece, I grieved over my unworthiness and experienced anew my inability to offer anything righteous to Jesus on my own. His death on the cross meant life for me - life not earned, but given. Overwhelming, but true.

This gift of righteousness is offered to all. He sees us, and died for us, and now lives to give life.
